The Story Behind the Story The September Sisters is not a true story!! I do have a younger sister, Rachel, but she didn’t disappear. Sure, sometimes I wished she would’ve when I was growing up because we used to fight a lot, and I'm sure she felt the same way about me. But now she’s one of my best friends and one of the coolest people I know! Rachel and I do have birthdays one day apart, just like Abby & Becky, but our birthdays are in June, not September. And our grandparents once gave us little heart necklaces with pearls in them, instead of sapphires. So I guess you could say we’re the June sisters!!
